Question. I should be receiving my new "work" PC this week. This is a computer provided by my company to work sometimes from home. I had a 2000$ budget and since I'll be using the computer for work and for personal used (which is all fine by work) I went and bought a XPS 730.
for information, the specs goes as followed:
CPU: E8400
GPU: Nvdidia GTX 280 1024MB RAM
RAM: 4GB DDR3 1333MHZ
Hard drive: 500GB Databurst 16MB
Soundcard: X-FI Xtreme Music
OS: Vista Prenium 32bits
Now, because of the 2000$ limit, I obviously don't have a H2C cooling system. I had to scale down on my cpu to fit the budget as well. I wanted a Quad but wanted something faster than the Q6600. I'll be mostly doing office application and gaming so not having a quad didn't feel that bad.
Since the computer does not technically belong to me, I am hesitant to start switching fans inside the computer.
My question is, how good are stock Fans in the XPS system and how far could I Overclock the CPU with stock cooling system ?
thanks,
