If I bought a used dell monitor in warranty and it breaks can I still use its warranty? I have the original invoice and address and all that good stuff. Do i need to call and get the address changed to mine?

This is the wrong forum to ask, you really need to call dell and ask them.

Whomever sold you the monitor should have done the transfer from Dell's website; assuming you get ownership transferred, then yes, the warranty is still valid.

Seems like an appropriate place to ask to me -- maybe someone else has just gone through a similar procedure, and others interested in buying a used monitor might appreciate the info.

Jerb -- From your sig, I assume you're in the US. Here's a form that can be used to transfer ownership of systems. I'm not sure if it's good for monitors, though -- maybe someone else can tell you. In any case, as Eastcoasthandle suggested, calling Dell will probably give you the quickest answer.

While you'll have to call Dell to get the bottom line, it's not off topic for this forum. Others may be interested in the outcome.....

For what it's worth, dell has a process you have to follow to transfer a warranty. They do transfer, but you have fill out the paperwork before hand.

Surprisingly it's a painless process upfront.

After hell going through dells support (email correspondence gave me the number to laptop repair which then transfered me to their jukebox devision... it was just horrible, no one seems to want to admit that dell makes monitors) I got someone who had a clue...

dell warranties on monitors are non transferable
