I got a good price on eBay a brand new Dell 1909W SFF AIO monitor. (this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160321034207)
But the stand for this one doesn't pivot 90° like a lot of the Dell stands, plus it has this awkward little platform designed for one of their "all-in-one" systems (which I don't have).

Anyway, I'm looking around for a simpler Dell monitor stand that fits my monitor's rear bracket fitting and pivots to portrait view. Can anyone tell me whether I'd have any problems with this stand which goes with Dell 1908FP, 1907FP, 1707FP, 1708FP models?

The bracket looks just like the one on mine, and I suspect the Ultrasharp monitors share a common bracket. Does anyone have any experience swapping stands on these things? Anything else I should be aware of?

The sheer number of Dell Ultrasharp monitor models is confounding, and the Dell website is totally convoluted.

Any advice much appreciated -- thanks!

they'll all have VESA mount holes, probably 100mm spacing, may be 75mm though, so basically any stand with VESA mounting will work (so you can just blow Dell off entirely and go with Ergotron, or those nice cheap ones on monoprice)

if you dont know the spacing, get out a ruler and measure how many CM between the holes (think of it as a square, whats the side length?), 10 mm = 1 cm, so 10cm will mean 100mm, 7.5cm will mean 75mm, and so on

The monitor I have just clicks into place onto that mounted metal plate.

With the VESA holes, are you saying that if necessary I could poach the metal plate from the stand I have and bolt it onto any VESA-compliant stand?

(Sorry if these are dumb questions -- just dipping my toe into all this monitor/mounting stuff.)
