I have a Dell Ultrsharp 27". Like 11 years old. And today I get this message. It remains on top of everything and I can't seem to get into the monitor menu. Just on and off.

What is happening?

Power button doesn't work
The menu button works as an on-off switch now. And that message doesn't go away.

sounds like its time for a new monitor. what exact model is it?

ah, i think i have a few of those kicking around a couple schools.
google doesnt show anything about this, and there are no repair manuals or parts available, looks like youve got the yellowing too(like half the ones i have)...
10+ years is a pretty good life span, think its time for something new.

23000 hours is not that much, ive seen monitors with twice that still working

Unplug it for a while and plug it back in and see what happens.

My guess is some sort of capacitor is worn out. If you're into that kind of thing you could try opening it up and seeing if any look weird and replace them. If you're not just buy a new monitor. Paying someone to fix it would cost more than the monitor is worth.
