Stolen from Slickdeals. Maybe call for price adjustments on those U3011s?

I wasn't able to get a price adjustment over the phone on the U3011 so I just placed a new order and will return the one from yesterday. If anyone else is able to get your previous order adjusted though let us know and I'll attempt it again since my first order will be delivered on Monday.

Who pays for the shipping? Does Dell pay for you to ship back the monitor you are returning?

I've been looking around, but what are the differences between the U2711 and the U3011 besides the aspect ratio, pixel count, and pixel density. I'm talking more like image quality, etc.

I'm VERY tempted to get one of these because I said before that I would jump on this if it were not for my near 10% tax rate in CA, but this new %10 off just blew that door open...

Just helped my kid brother order one. For some reason, the checkout page had issues when he tried it. The chat line was unable to adjust my previous purchase - will need to call them during business hours. My brother tried to order over the phone, but the rep there said the coupon was not stackable. Not what happens on the website, however.

Forgot how cheap taxes are in ND. Lucky bastard.

Yeah but on the other hand, he lives in North Dakota. I wouldn't move there for a free 30" monitor every year.

Man I really want the 27" but I only have a GTX 460 currently and I'm not sure that will do Black Ops at that resolution. Not sure I can do a GTX 580 if I'm dropping $800 on the monitor!

You would flank them with two more 30" for the apex in Surround gaming, of course. :p

Yes but what happens when i finally have two u3011 and my 3007wfp starts looking old and dry? More money wasted on this obsession.

F all of you, I just ordered one. :)

Damn you [H]ot deals! While this deal may come around again, I doubt it will be beaten for a long, long time.

$1120.62 with CA tax

Assuming Black Ops is no longer running terribly after the patches, you should be perfectly fine, at least without AA.

My friend just ordered another U2711 yesterday. Gotta let him know to cancel and reorder.
He'll probably buy the U3011.

I run BlackOps on my U2711 fully maxed @ 2560x1440 with a GTX 470. The game is capped around 90fps anyways.
A GTX 460 will be fine, just overclock it a bit. It doesn't take much power to run a DX9 console game.

Any noticeable input lag?

$800 + for a monitor seems unreasonable when you can buy a good quality 24" for less than $400 pretty easily. And a 50" 1080P plasma tv for $600. I understand the res is higher and these are the famed IPS...but still --- prices need to drop more before my interest is piqued. I have a MVA monitor now in the original 24" Soyo deal and I'm quite happy with it. It cost about $250-$300 and was a very high quality display screen for the money.

For that type of money have you considered something like this?

$500 32" Sony TV that has VERY good reviews as a computer monitor (only 1080p though)

from that thread:

"I wasn't happy with the performance of the EX400 when it was connected to my MacBook Pro via HDMI. With VGA it was slightly better, but it was very blurry and underwhelming with both VGA and HDMI."

I purchased the U3011 two days ago using the second coupon code that gave 25% off. Saw this thread and crapped my pants because I could have saved another $100 or so, but I just added another one to my cart and the second coupon code is no longer working. The first one does, but it only gives 10% off. Not sure if it's just me, but the second one may be dead now.

Those of you who got in on one for $1012 got one [H]ard deal. I got mine for $1124 before adding the 5-year warranty and still feel like I made out like a bandit...

boy I really want to buy that 21" it'd compliment my 2005fpw nicely

and I bought it... :)

I saw the other thread last night and ordered from there. Luckily I read through all 5 pages before I ordered and saw the second discount code for the extra ~120 off.

Total for me was $1072.53 shipped. delivery expected by 12/17.

Very excited to finally have my 30 incher.

Yeah, I had some buyer's remorse as well because I could have saved ~$120 with the second 10% coupon. No way to predict that though. You win some, you lose some. Still a good deal for a great monitor.

Took every ounce of my will to resist buying the 30" model to replace my Dell 3007...sigh.

So did i.

My estimitated is 12/17 whats yours.

12/14/2010

For those of you that didn't get on the second coupon, maybe you can feel better that some of you still paid less than me considering the high sales tax in CA and the e-waste fee :|

Yeah i really can't decide if i should get or not. I have hte money, but it could be better spent on other thins, but I don't see these monitors getting to a lower price than this ever again until they are completely outdated.

or i guess the deal is dead anyway :(

okay - enlighten me.

You would have to buy 2 TV's to get the same number of pixels. I also would prefer one single high resolution monitor with an application like GridMove to 2 24" 1080p monitors. Less head and neck movement. I have a 40" LCD PC/360/PS3 desktop setup at home and its great for gaming, not so great for programming or web development.

Thanks op, u2211h deal still works. was hoping for something in 1920x1200 but this is way to good to pass up. Now the hard part is resisting buying two more :D
