I just picked up a Dell u3011 30" display, FOR FREE! Does anyone remember which dell monitors pair nicely for panoramic viewing?

Do you mean PLP or do you mean like eyefinity, where getting 2 more u3011's would be your best bet.

PLP (Portrait Landscape Portrait) like this?

If so, getting IPS versions of Dell 2007fp's are very popular. Basically any 20.1" 4:3 1600x1200 screens that can rotate into portrait mode are good.

Or Eyefinity (Surround) like this?

Then get two more.

That 2nd pic of the 3x U3011 is actually mine. Weird, that I even saw this post since I only visited this thread on the forum because I'm selling my U3011's and looking to move to a single 4k monitor.

However, to answer your question... PLP is great for office work, but if you want to do any gaming, you will want to stick with an LLL setup like what I had. And, when you can get it working, it is pretty awesome. I mean really, really awesome. But it's a lot of work to get it working.

Congrats on the free monitor, and good luck!

I was looking to do PLP. I had an eyefinity setup once before with three 22" Asus monitors, but I hated how much the image stretched on the side monitors. This was very helpful though, thanks.
