Dell U3011 - Feeling unwell?!

I've been using a 24" HP ZR24W for a few years now and I decided to buy a bigger monitor (as I'm a designer and extra screen space always comes in handy). I decided to go for the 30" Dell U3011 monitor but ever since I've had it I've felt a little unwell when working on it. I don't get any headaches but just feel a little sick and my eyes just feel a little weird (really hard to explain to be honest!).

I went to the optician today and they gave me a clean bill of eye health so I'm just wondering what it can be and why I wasn't getting any such feeling with the IPS display of my HP monitor.

I really want to keep the monitor but I can't work like this forever. I've been using the Dell for around 2 weeks now.

FYI the settings I have the monitor on are:

Brightness: 5
Contrast: 50
RGB: 89, 98, 91

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

lol, ever since I got a 30in 2560x1600 display I feel like my eyesight has gotten worse. How close are you sitting to the screen?

Could it be the back light flicker that is known to be associated with those monitors? I think I have seen threads on other sites mention this. Seems similar to people who get nausea playing first person shooters with lower frame rates, etc. Some people are a little more affected than others with that kind of stuff.

Also, isn't that more to do with LED backlighting? The U3011 isn't an LED screen, unless I'm mistaken (which I probably am!)

I'm with you on the eyesight Feel Like I can't see crap on it. I think it looks great gamming but I hate surffing the net or anything else on it. I had to turn the brightness off on mine or it would make me sick or give me really bad eye strain. I have the older dell 3007-hc. Way to bight for me turned up. Might want to try turring the brightness down more.
