Dell U3011 Card reader

Just want to check with fellow users of this monitor.

I got the U3011 in late 2010, and it was rev01. Recently I've been using the card reader to read SD cards. I find that I need to turn off and on the monitor for the card reader to work properly. Prior to turning on the computer, the monitor is in sleep mode.

I have called dell and they have replaced the monitor with a refurbished rev07 one. But the card reader still behaves the same. I've tried different ports on my PC and that doesn't help.

Is anyone experiencing the same thing?
 
I have the same monitor (Revision A07) and i'm experiencing the exact same thing.
I have to turn off and then on the monitor ,in order for the card reader to work
 
Rev 5 here. Card reader works fine after waking up from sleep mode.

Note: I did not install any drivers from Dell for the monitor or card readers, I just use whatever the OS used at time of installation.
 
I have revision 08, it works fine. I did not use the CD whatsoever (because I don't even have a DVD drive anymore).

I'm on W8.
