Hi to all. I just got this amazing dell monitor. Can you please all tell me the settings you are using it at? And what video card?

I want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong. Sometimes, when I maximize some windows, the text doesn't look sharp at all, although in a window next to it, it will be just fine.

I had a problem before because I didn't have the dual link DVI cable, but now that I'm using it, that problem(also related to sharpness) is gone. What could it be?

Thanks.

"fuzzy" text is usually attributed to not running the monitor at native resolution. So that's the first thing you should check. Native res for the u2711 is 2560x1440. You cannot run the u2711 at native resolution without a dual link DVI cable (or some type of displayport of course).

Second, make sure you turn off cleartype/font smoothing.

I'm running it at the native resolution. I already tried turning off cleartype, but still, the problem didn't go away.

Try turning off font smoothing. Then reboot.

In Windows 7:

Start > Computer > System Properties > Advanced System Settings > under "Performance", click "Settings" > Uncheck "Smooth edges of screen fonts" > Apply

Reboot.

If that doesn't work - I'm betting its pretty much impossible for anyone to say what's wrong without actually seeing whatever it is you're seeing.

I love this monitor, been using it for an year already, still sad about the fact that there's so little tech improvements on pc screens, when this one dies think I'll grab another one :p

I'm using sRGB 28 brightness, 50 contrast and a color profile I found on the internet

On this site black level, white saturation(can see all the differences up to 254! ) and gamma calibration are all perfect :)
