Which is better as a whole I know the price difference is pretty hefty, but I still see recommendations for the older model and I believe it has a better version of IPS panel is this true? If I was gonna say that I would use this for 50% school+video+CAD and 50% games which would be the better monitor? Color calibration is not that much of an issue but I have a desire to begin fiddling with my copy of Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop. Thanks for any advice.

U2410 is wide-gamut so if you want that feature then it's obvious choice

ps. there are at least few similar topics about u2410 vs u2412m...

I do video and photography. I do not want to use wide-gamut again, I have that on my RGB sony laptop, so I decided to stick with sRGB and the U2412M does a great job. There are quite a few threads on this 2410 vs 2412 topic.
