Hello there,

Dell.ca has this monitor on sale ($579.from 779.$200 off good price?). I saw the thread here about it and most of people say it has cross-hatching etc. what revision is it now and is it somehow problem free? I will use it for photography but don't have a calibration tool since I don't do prints. How are the colours on it?

I currently have a Dell U2312hm and I find the AG somehow a little annoying, but not much. I will also be buying a new retina macbook pro to use with it.

Thank you for your help.

For photography you would likely want to consider a wide gamut monitor that supports the Adobe RGB color space as well as the sRGB color space. Wide gamut Dell models include the U2711 and U2713H, but not the U2713HM. There's also the U3014...but that's in a whole new price class.

The colours are good. Not as good as what I saw with ASUS MX299Q, but that's otherwise a bit of a specialty monitor given the 21:9 aspect ratio.

they are too expensive for me and I am not a professionnal photographer...

Save up for the BenQ BL2710PT or Viewsonic VP2770 and avoid exchanging Dell's 500x.

Older revisions=cross-hatching, image retention & yellow bleed. Newest Revision=obvious overshoot ghosting, image retention and worse colors.
