Have IPS displays reached a suitable point in which their slower response time to TN panels becomes irrelevant for intense gaming-related purposes? First-person shooters and such...

I am very sensitive to smoothness; in movies, if the scene pans I see it as a slideshow of images.

Thanks.

My brother just got 17-0 as assault in BC2 using the U2311.

is it very good ?
the animations is every time very fluid ?
absoluttly any issue ?

Basically every self-proclaimed gamer I've talked to scoffs at the idea of using an IPS panel for fast-paced shooter gaming, and I've never had the opportunity to try any sort of gaming on an IPS. I have very little experience with using IPS displays. If there's a delay that's more than a couple of milliseconds longer than an Insignia HDTV (which is actually pretty bad, but I've adjusted somewhat) I'll notice.

If you can go old school and play quake 2 or 3 on IPS and it not lag for you then its good for any future slow motion FPS because nothing today can compare to the speed of old school shooters.
