Dell TrueMobile wifi nic really suck or does my router?

I have a linksys 802.11b router and a Dell Truemobile 1150 card in my laptop. Seems that I have a hard time staying connected though. The connection on my laptop randomly dies, lags, etc. Say I'm on mirc on my laptop and computer, somebody will say a bunch of crap and I'll see it on my computer. A few minutes later on my laptop the mirc screen just FLOODS with text

Download something, the download will just die in the middle of it, etc. I'm trying to explain my problem without sounding like a complete noob here

In the middle of downloads, it'll just die. I know it's not the servers, the problem has to lie between my wifi card and the router. I really know nothing about wireless networks however, except the Linksys card that came with the router didn't have this problem, however the reception on the card was horrible which is why I bought the Dell card (Orinoco Gold classic rebadge).

Also I get a very strong signal from my router, etc etc

Anybody have a solution? This is annoying as hell

This problem sounds about like the same thing I've been having. I'm going to try what was suggested there but I think this card didnt come with any kind of software for XP. Google time
