That is a gigantic crock of shit.
The barrel connector that was used by Dell laptops for decades was far more durable and could endure far more punishment.

Their laptops from 2019/2020 were the best since they offered both the barrel and USB-C charging ports - I suppose this was just for the transition period, not because they are innovating.
The laptops that have only the USB-C charging port constantly wear out and have consistently required full motherboard replacements to fix them under warranty, and the power adapter's USB-C connector is about the weakest non-reinforced garbage I have seen to come to market.

Dell isn't using USB-C because it is durable, they are doing it to cut down on manufacturing costs while simplifying parts - great for them, sucks for their customers.
Oh, it cuts down on cost, so that means the laptops are lower cost? Ha, nope, their costs have only continued to increase in recent years.
