[EDIT] PREFACE: I Am Canadian. Therefore, price is in CANADIAN dollars.

Just put an order through on one as I've loved what I had seen in store. However, can't find any reviews of the newest models online ;)

Specs are...

14"
Core i5-430
3gb DDR3
250gb 7200rpm
Radeon HD 4530
9 cell (<3)
3yr accidental coverage (JUST in case. )

1500 in, financed (I can't afford it up front because I can't save. I can easily afford the payments to get it done early however, before i get told it was a bad idea ;) )

Not a bad sounding 14" I think. I had an IBM T30 before this (Yeah, old school. Was an AWESOME laptop though. ) So I really like the smaller form factor, but not so small performance gets limited ;)

I configured one for my step dad with a Core i3 330, it should be here next week. If it arrives before yours, I'll give you the rundown. :)

so battery life is important to you

the samsung r480 that i am using now
is 999 dollars
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX27365(ME).aspx
or from ncix 1020
http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=49807&vpn=NP-R480-JT01CA&manufacture=Samsung

core i5 439m
with geforce 330m

only two thing which is worse then the dell 14
are the harddrive 5400rpm 500gb vs 7200 250gb
and the battery 9cell vs 6 cell

but the samsung has a geforce 330m which is better then the 4530
(330m geforce can compare to the 4670-4650)
the extended warrenty from memory express was 170 dollars( at the time i bought mine) for 2 years
3 years for 250 dollars

K so it arrived today.

Fingerprint magnet, but thats par for the course with anything but a mac/lenovo ;)

It's very quick. First boot to windows desktop was mere minutes, everything is instantaneous, Wireless has great range and is quick too. Battery life playing music and sitting in my living room browsing was about 4.5 hours at about 70% brightness, so could easily do better.

DVD Burner makes a terrifying clicking noise when you insert a disc, but it has mangled nothing thus far, and I'm pretty sure that its just par for the course with Slot loads ;)

It said it weighs 5.5ish lbs, I dunno if I believe that, It seems to be lighter than my t30 which was apparently about 5. And I've got the 9 cell battery too so...

Oh, screen is very vibrant. Viewing angles could be a LITTLE better but if its in my lap, s'all good. Resolution incase anyone was still wondering, is 1366x768 (I couldn't find an answer anywhere. )

Charger has a lovely illuminated ring for finding it in the dark, it about 3/4 an inch thick (The brick. ) and has an integrated cable wrap like always.

I skipped the wifi N and integrated bluetooth, I only have G at home, Have a bluetooth adapter already (Mini) and don't really care too much about upgrading later if I need to ;)

FUN FACT: Has a sim card slot for 3G modems ;) Just a matter of getting one ;)
