Dell ST2410 calibration settings?

Hi everyone,

I just received my Dell ST2410 display today and am having trouble calibrating it. I have it hooked up to my laptop, not a desktop, and the colors on my laptop screen look noticeably better than the 2410's. The 2410 looks like it has a kind of brownish-yellow tint to it when playing media, where my laptop's screen looks more natural.

Would someone who has this display mind sharing their calibration settings with me? I know that no two monitors are exactly alike, but it would help point me in the right direction.

Thanks a lot for your help :)

Choose mediaprofile if you want it more blueish and less brown. Game and nature profile gives a less great picture imo.

My settings
Profile: Media
Brightness: 90
Contrast: 85
Saturation: 75

I really love the monitor so after calibaratoon you should be too. Increasing saturation is really great if you like vibrant colors.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Where do you find the saturation setting? I don't see it in my menu

It is in colorsettings. However you must change one of the colorsettings to make it visable. Dont remember the name of that setting but if you mess around in colorsettings you should find it. I am on vacation right now so dont have the monitor infront of me.

Hm.. I changed "Mode Selection" from "Graphics" to "Video" and the "Hue" and "Saturation" options appear, but when I change to "Video" mode the screen changes brightness or something automatically depending on what I'm looking at, so I don't think that will work for me.

No, thay shpuldnt happen. Just make sure that dynamic contrast is off.

Thanks, that fixed the problem with the brightness changing. The colors still look WAY different than my laptop's, though. So I don't know if it's the st2410 that's wrong, or my laptop's display..

Your laptop might have an IPS or VA panel. St2410 have TN panel which have less natural colors than IPS or VA.

I'm still trying to figure this out :) I guess the best thing would be to use one of those monitor calibration things (like the spyder 3), but I don't know anyone who has one..

Let me give you an example to show how different the colors are. The picture linked to below looks completely blue on my laptop screen, and completely purple on my ST2410. So which is correct?

It is blue on both my mobilephone, laptop and ST2410.

Cause of viewingangle it will get a purple touch on a TN-panel if not looking on the pic from straight away.

Well now I'm really stumped. I posted the image on another website and got four responses, all saying it was purple

It is definitely purple here as well. Starting to really worry about these monitors. I have been playing with the calibration settings for hours and while the picture looks *okay*, the colors are impossible to match with another screen, like my MacBook Pro's.

Anyone else out there with these monitors who can see the previous image as blue? It is completely purple here.

I gave up trying to calibrate mine and just reset it to factory settings. Unfortunately I don't have the money to buy a calibration tool, but that would probably do the trick..
