Looks like a decent deal.

This is the case, motherboard, power supply, and cables only.

You will need to provide the CPU, CPU heatsink, SATA CD/DVD drive, SATA cables and SATA hard drives to complete this server. This server uses LGA1156 CPU's and DDR3 PC3-10600 1333MHz ECC UDIMM's.

yes i know.

I have all that stuff :)

If you can find me a cheap QUIET 1U server for around 300$ and accept 16gigs ram i'm all ears :)

"Quiet" is a subjective requirement. The location and proximity can make a difference, ie: a basement could be more tolerant than a bedroom closet.

That being said, I've been around plenty of the R210's and R310's lately, and I don't feel they're too loud after they've been first powered on for a minute.

They scream on boot but after about 30sec I can not hear them over the A/C in my server room. Good little boxes I've got a pair with quad core CPU and 4gb of ram for my DC's. They should make pretty decent esx test boxes, they have 2 internal usb headers between the hard drives.
