My dad just reformated his Dimension 4200.
Not sure what DELL uses in the way or drivers, but I was gonna install sp2, then directx, then the latest nvidia drivers.

Not sure if they have chipset drivers.

any suggestions?

Install the Intel Chipset Utility. Also, SP2 includes the latest version of DirectX so there is no need to download that. Also, look into "Slipstreaming" SP2 into an XP installation disk. It cuts down alot of time.

I'm not sure of your question. But you would install XP and the follow up work just like every other computer.
