Dell LCD stand interchangeability

I've seen people mention this in a few threads but I dont know that anyone has ever confirmed if the stands for the monitors are infact able to be freely swapped. I know the mounts are VESA 100 compliant but I guess that doesnt necessarily mean that the stands themselves are compliant. I know quite a few of you have different models (i.e. 3007 and 2 2007, etc.) so I know someone has the ability to check this out for us.

The reason I ask is I just ordered a 2405 and I think the stand is not so great looking. I like the stand for the 26" Dell tv and I'd like to use that instead even though it eliminates the portraint function. Would also be interesting to see if the 3007 and other xx07 models are compatable.

Maybe the 26" stand will work for yours..

The 3007's stand should work too. However the 2407 stand should support less weight as the 2407 is lighter than the 2405..which means, I wouldn't want to try it..as I don't want my monitor to topple over. And where are you gonna get just a stand? Plus..the 2007/2407s both suck..so I wouldn't want to keep the lcd portion..shrugs

Well theres a 26" tv stand on ebay right now but looking at this picture, I think the mounting point on the 2405 is too high on the monitor to accomodate such a short stand. But considering all the people who buy aftermarket stands/arms for their monitors I'm sure someone has an extra 3007 stand lying around that they would be willing to part with.
