I have a Dell E248WFP that was having slight backlight flickering problems after the monitor had been on for about 7-10 minutes.
The problems were just bad enough to be annoying.. more of a pulsing.
I decided to take it apart to see if there were any bulging capacitors. I didn't find any, but decided to go ahead and replace the 3 capacitors on the backlight inverter board anyway.
After digging around in my parts box, I found an old BenQ power board that had 3 capacitors that would work. The stock ones were 35v 220mf, The ones I pulled off the BenQ board are 35v 470mf.
I have been using the monitor for about 25 minutes now and no flicker or pulsing whatsoever.
I am guessing that the caps on the inverter board were overrated in the first place, which surprises me not one bit as the mfgs tend to try and get away with the cheapest components possible.
