E207WFP
2007WFP

What makes the 2007WFP cost so much more money? Is it even worth spending the extra cash? I just want to get a 20" monitor (well any monitor that does 1680x1050) for my PC.

The E207WFP is TN film based, which is the low end of tech's when it comes to LCD. The 2007WPF once upon a time was all S-IPS based, but its moved to a mix of PVA (I think; might be MVA) and sometimed S-IPS screens , which is better then the TN of the E207. MVA but usually considered worse than S-IPS but better then TN depending on who you are talking to.

My tip: Get the 2007 if you have the coin and will be using it alot. If not, go with the cheaper one.

Oh, and the 2007 gives you composite and S video input as well.

The 2007wfp hasn't completely move to S-PVA. It seems to be something like 3:1 odds on getting a SIPS panel just from looking at the Dell lottery forum.

Either way the PVA and IPS panels are better than the TN in terms of viewing angle, color, blacks, etc. The TN does one up the two by its better response time, however I think the tech has gotten better with PVA and IPS that you won't notice any ghosting. In addition the 2007wfp comes with a better stand (swivels, does portrait) and comes with more connectors (svideo, composite). The TN tends to bleed more from my experience.

Bottom line is if you have to ask about the difference of the two then you probably can't tell the difference visually. Get the TN and be happy. Just don't sit it next to a SIPS or a PVA panel :)

Oh. Here is some readings on TN, PVA and IPS panels:

I think its S-PVA.

Well, right now I have a Rosewill R912E (19" LCD), do you know what panel is has (like TN or whatever)? I'm happy with it's colors/response time, so...

What about games on teh 2007wfp? 16ms seems horrible. The only thing really stopping me from buying it is the 16ms...i want something in the 5ms range. Do i need to worry about that?

I think the 2007 has 8 ms GTG... the Black to White (or w/e) is 16 ms, which as far as i know shouldnt give u any ghosting... or so i heard from some ppl who already got theirs and use it regulary for cs 1.6

Get the 2007... has lots more plus (Component, S-video composite etc)

That "16ms" is actually more like 8ms (according to testing at Behardware) but when Dell switched to a newer IPS panel going from the 2005FPW to the 2007WFP they quoted the exact same specs. I have the 2007 and to my eyes ghosting is not an issue..

edit- in response to brownstone above ^^ the 2007WFP doesn't have component....DVI, VGA, composite and S-video are what is available.
