DELL E193FP

Well... what do you use your computer for, primarily? (i.e. are you a [H]core gamer? or do you do more multimedia or photo stuff, or web browsing/e-mail etc)
 
Gaming mostly. Though lately I haven't been doing much twitch fps gaming (like UT). I mainly play WoW and Guild Wars. I also play all my games in the dark, and the glare/glow off my CRT is killing me.
 
LCDs are even brighter :p
This LCD panel has an OK 16ms response time, and is a TN panel, so you can expect that the colours will be a bit washed out looking, and the viewing angles will suck balls.

However, if you're always straight in front of your screen, and you never do any photo or multimedia work, this may work as a budget screen for you. However, that said, if you CAN wait for a screen purchase, save up your money and buy one of the better Dell 20" panels, which, despite having the same or similar response time, have much better viewing angles and colour reproduction/blacks. I think they go for about $400-ish now.

You won't be unhappy with this monitor, even with the crappy viewing angles and blacks/colours. It's still a decent screen. But if you can save up and wait, do it.
 
I won't have the cash to spend $400+ on a monitor considering I still need more RAM and stuff. Would you recommend I just go with a 17" off newegg instead of this? My 6800GT is still waiting to be unleashed as my current crap monitor can only do 1280x1024 @ 60Hz, and can't hit anything higher.
 
Remember, 17" LCDs are limited to their native resolution. In your budget range, how bout a "good" CRT. You know, one of those screens that can do 1600x1200 @ 150hz. lol

Much more bang for your buck.. because as much as that Dell LCD is an "OK" screen, it doesn't present itself with any advantage, other than space, over a good CRT.

While some screens do (i.e. the Dell 2001/2005, 2405 for instance), a TN+ panel with 16ms isn't exactly cream of the crop to spend $300 on replacing a CRT.
 
Does the E193FP have DVI-D inputs? From the spec page, I'm guessing it doesn't ... but it doesn't say specifically.
