Hey Guys,

I have a Dell PowerVault 110T DLT1 tape backup drive. It been in use for a year or two. Recently, we found that tapes backed up with it are not readable by other DLT1 drives. It was mentioned that we need to send it to a servicing company to have the heads realigned.

Sorry for the ignorance, but is that true? Given how these operate, can the head go out of alignment and be re-aligned?

If it is true, is there a company any of you recommend? Hopefully in the MN area, but failing that, anywhere in the US? (Sorry, Canada, you already send me too much snow! heh!)

Any assistance would be appreciated!
