Hey guys. I currently own a dimension xps gen 2 (at least i think it's a gen 2) and am thinking of taking the parts and putting it into a shuttle case (i don't know what the exact name is, but i think you guys call it sff). it'll be for lan parties or just going to friend's houses to game it up. i know i'll need a new mobo, but what do you guys think.

2.8p4 with ht
512mb ddr pc3200
radeon 9800pro
gotta get a new soundcard or a mobo with onboard sound (took the audigy 2 and put it in my dimension 9100)

if i was to get a shuttle case/psu with a sff motherboard, would all of the dell parts work? i have decent knowledge with putting together a computer (used to do it for friends back in high school and built 2 for myself 5 years ago), but my knowledge of proprietary parts are minimal.

well, thanks to all that read this and leave me some feedback. :D

They should. As long as you get the right socket types for the processors and such, I see no problem making the move. Good luck.

none of those parts are proprietary :)

just a socket 478 based shuttle, preferablly one with the i865pe or i875p chipset
