Dell d420 vs EEE/HP mini note

So I am wanting to purchase an ultra portable notebook or smaller for travel and basic use. I have looked at Dell's Latitude x1 and d420. I have also taken an interest in the new EEE(9") and the HP mini note. How do the dells compare performance wise to the smaller EEE and mini note? If I went with the dell it would be one I find on Ebay.

You might consider an IBM Thinkpad X40/41, or perhaps an X60 if you're willing to spend a little more. The X40 won't be as powerful as the Dell, but I'd take it for the build quality. The X60 will be better than the Dell in both quality and performance.

The X1 is an excellent notebook in terms of portability. It is a bit underpowered however but more than enough for most tasks you will do on the road. Also it isnt a Dell notebook really, it is a rebadged Samsung. The main issue with it is that it gets hot since it doesnt have a fan. The entire notebook chasis serve as a heatsink.
