Dell B130, inverter board

Hi. I had issue where when I close laptop lid or when display is turned off using ACPI, the display would not come up, lamp will be lid, but display will be blank. This is due to the inverter board. I called dell support and they sending a tech, they want to replace motherboard. Told me that inverter board is build into motherboard.

Is that correct?


I do believe inverter board is inside the lid, bellow LCD, and is rather a simple replacement. It would be dumb to have inverter board build into motherboard.


In general, I find dell tech support are dumb. Thumbs down. I knew a weirdo on my previous job, the guy is total troll, worked for TAG, and they provide tech support for dell, compaq, etc... But his knowledge of anything tech was non existant. He was fat, average frustrated chap, who dropped out of college, is 28 and a looser.

Yea, standby is disabled. I have:

Display off 5 min on battery, 20 min on AC
HD off 5 min on battery, 20 min on AC
Standby off NEVER on battery, and NEVER on AC


Behaviour for when lid is closed, do nothing.
