I have the new Dell UP3214Q and E port plus advanced port replicator connected to a Precision M4800 with the Quadro K2100M video card.
If I get a second UP3214Q, can I daisy chain it though the first monitor? Can the K2100M handle 2 4K monitors?

I am confused because these monitors have panels split in to two, so technically at DP1.2 they are already daisy chaining 2 monitors, with 2 4K monitors, I will be Daisy chaining 4 displays basically... I wonder if I am pushing my luck.

Also a second question. My M4800 has DP1.2, if next year I go ahead and buy an other dock that has DP1.3 or HDMI 2.0, will my M4800 work as it has the DP1.3 or will it downgrade to DP1.2. I guess I am wondering how does the connector on the bottom of the laptop behave like? Replicate what is on the sides or a direct PCIE type connection to the motherboard/video card....

Even if this would hypothetically work, one DP 1.2 connection doesn't have enough bandwidth for 2 3840x2160@60hz connections, so... nope.

Ok, the dock has 2 DP1.2 ports on it and technically K2100M supports up to 4 displays which is the same as 2 split panel 4K displays. Could that work?

Also still what happens when you take a laptop that originally has 1 DP1.2 port on it and place it in a Dock that has 2 DP1.3's in it. Does the laptop now magically have DP1.3?
