So I picked this up this afternoon for free and would like some suggestions as to what to do with it. I haven't cracked it open yet but it's a beastly rack case. I was thinking worst case I could put some wheels on it and let my kids ride it around. Supposedly it still works but I'm more inclined to gut it and mod the bejesus out of it :D

And with a can of spray paint for scale:

Indeed, but I'd like to keep it quiet. I was thinking with enough room, there isn't much reason not to water cool it. I was more debating on whether I should convert it to a tower configuration or keep it as a rack mount and get a rack.

I also have no idea what kind of hardware I could fit in there without modding since I haven't cracked it yet. I got it from a smoker so it was kinda stinky and I didn't want to get covered in that dust last night.

lol indeed, I decided to spend time with the wife hoping to get some romance going. Turns out I should've just gone on with tinkering with the server instead ;)

I have one of these beasts with accompanying powervault in storage. I would LOVE to get rid of it *hint hint* =) It weight like 800 lbs.

Yeah I remember back about the time they were released I thought the dell servers had the coolest front panels of any case and really wanted one. Now though I have my wood case that blends in with my furniture and does everything I want it to do. I think I might just stick it in my barn and wait until I get the money and inkling to build a rack, then just use it as a gutted rack case.
