Dell 3417W or AW3418DW?

Getting the urge to upgrade my 27" dell to something larger. Only difference I can see between the two is the Dell supports 1.07 billion colors and the Alienware supports 16.7 million colors.

Machine has a 1080 gpu and a 6700K cpu with 16GB memory.

$300 difference between the 2 monitors.

1st question is: should I wait a little longer for a better price?
Been happy with the current Dell 27" so I am thinking of getting another Dell monitor. On the other hand $300 isn't much extra for a monitor (Alienware)that will last several years.
2nd question will I have any problems with my machine running this big of a monitor? Primary interest is a few games.
 
Used the dell at my last job. Was a great monitor.

They are not even remotely marketed for the same user though. One is a gaming screen : gsync, 100hz, etc. The other is just a typical office worker screen.
 
I didn't see anything about the Dell to know what the use was. Maybe the Alienware will come down a bit next month.

Tried to get Dell to price match this morning. They wouldn't because it was on sale at Newegg. Egg has the price and I will buy it there. Many thanks for the heads up on Egg.
