I thought the backlight issues was solved when I ordered my 3008WFP back in December, but it wasn't.. I got more and more annoyed by this, until I got it replaced last week. The new one had pretty uniform backlight, but instead, a red, stuck pixel in the middle of the screen. Called again.
I'm now on my 3rd 3008WFP, and this one won't even give me a picture (it doesn't recognize signals from both my PC and my Mac). So, I called Dell yet again.
However, this time I gave them the option of refunding my money, and I asked them whether or not they had anything new coming up. While I didn't get a direct response to that one, the service guy asked me to hold for a few minutes before returning. He then found a screen in their system named '3008WSP' (yes: I had him spell it out several times to be sure). I haven't got ANY hits in Google on the exact phrase, and I wonder if anyone in these forums has heard of it before. When I asked about differences between WFP and WSP, he just answered that the latter was 'newer and better'.
I reckon it will be here Monday or Tuesday, so I will report back if it's just a typo in Dell's computer systems, or if it is in fact a new model.
What do you guys think?
