Wow, That's one beautiful monitor! Dell really did a good job on this one. Now let's see the performance of this monster!

I think I just got a heart attack looking at that price.
Dell has delayed the ship date of the 3008wfp that I ordered on 12/18 again. Now ship date is Jan 7th.
That thing costs more than my new 46" Samsung 1080p 120hz LCD TV.
It'll be interesting to see how well it sells.
Whatever it is, it ain't worth $2034!!!!!! I'm stunned at that price. Anyone remember the original price of the 3007WFP?From what I have read; displayport has higher bandwidth then duel link DVI. It transfers the data in a new format and can include 48 bit color as well as sound. I have not found what the max bandwidth of displayport is yet.

Wow... If true, then the price dropped by over 50% in less than a year! This could bode well for those with the patience to wait another 6-9 months before buying a 3008.Original price was $2,499 i think
Original price was $2,499 i think
Mine were $2,899 each but I added the extended service plan with next business day replacement.
Yeah, I couldn't swallow more than 2,499 for the monitor, so i opted out of the extended service plans, i figured 3 years was more than enough
It's worked out for me. One of the first 2 I got was bad. After sending me 2 refurbs that were crap via Next Day air, I finally got a 3rd replacement that was brand new. Was nice to get that taken care of in less than 4 days total. But just recently I had one die and that's been a pain to take care of. I've given up on taking care of it for the time being and I'm using one of the refurb's they sent me. But I'd never trade my 3 3007's for anything other than 3 3008's right now.
Dell has started taking orders again. They should ship after they are announced at CES on the 7th of this month.

Just grabbed these from the 3007 thread. Don't have any recent shots and I'm at work but here's the 3 of them sitting on the floor.
Thanks. What I wanted to see was what kind of desk you used and how you had it setup.
8ms is a joke. $2000+ is a bigger joke. Get yourself 3 24" monitor for a lesser price.
I have learn my lesson for spending $1400 on a 24" monitor and saw it dropped to $500 less then a year.
Heres a review of the 3008 : http://www.hothardware.com/articles/Dell_UltraSharp_3008WFP_30inch_LCD_With_DisplayPort/?page=1
The 3008WFP is a nice monitor, but I'm waiting for the 2408WFP. I was searching on Dell's website for the 2408WFP and found this:
http://support.us.dell.com/support/...eid=R172933&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=235071
Don't know if that means anything, but I would assume it means it's coming out pretty soon.
I'd like a 2708WFP, but I doubt we'd see it before September.Yea hopefully its not too long before we get the 2408. One my 2405's is dieing and in desperate need of an upgrade
Oh, sorry. I have a non-name 72" desk from Quill. It's just one in the middle and one on either side. Nothing special, it's just a 12.3 million pixels of space.
I'd like a 2708WFP, but I doubt we'd see it before September.
Nice setup, what do you use them for?
That's just my guess. Dell just released the 3008. I'd expect the 2408 around spring/summer. Fall seems like a good time to release the 2708. I'd be thrilled to be wrong about this, tho. A 2708 early this year would be great.September? As in almost a year from now? Wasn't the 3008 just released?
