Dell 2707 vs Acer 26, differences?

Forgive my ignorance and if this has been discussed before but what are the primary differences between these two models?

I am aware of the pixel size between the two and that the Dell offers more inputs that I may or may not need (not a console man) but have no clue on color gamut, lag issues, screen type and what they mean.
Iv heard about the resolution issues with DVI on the Acer but also that it may be fixed on shipping models.

I'm just trying to decide if it is worth the extra $420.

I like gaming and digital photography.
