The new Del 27" is on sale at $1169. Looks like a pretty good deal, especially if you can get a few other discount.

Yah, it looks like Dell lowered the base price to $1299 and threw a 10% discount on top of that to get to $1169.

It's not as big a price drop as you'd like to see, but it does make it a little tempting for those who were waiting for any kind of reduction.

I wonder if there are any 15% coupons floating around that would supercede the current discount and get it right around $1100...

If you use a DPA account, you get an extra 3% off in Dell Home. Not 15%, but it puts you closer ;)

Wow thats tempting....$996+tax with a 15% coupon.

Edit: You can stack the 10 and 15% coupons with existing promotions, just not with other coupons. 20 days to decide whether to pull the trigger and play around with this thing. Not sure if the increase in pixel pitch is worth the extra real estate over a 24".

What 15% off coupon are you speaking of? Are these readily available, because I don't see any on fleabay..?

I think you can also get 3% back through fatcash over at fatwallet.com (may take a few months though). Every little bit helps!

If it's still a good choice when it gets to around $900 then I may bite...right now even the price cut is too high when you start looking at other things in that pricerange. (like a decent 42" HD plasma for just a little more)

edit- to the gentleman above...are you sure about the stacking coupons? I thought Dell cut that out long ago..

15% off coupon came with a Vista upgrade flyer about 2-3 weeks ago. One-time use. Its not super obvious so some people may have just tossed it.

And yes, its 100% stackable with existing promotions but not stackable with other coupons. The 10% price cuts from their black MSRP are promotions, and not coupons. I've used 10-15% coupons 2x already in the last 6 months or so on a Inspiron E1505 and 2407WFP and it works without problems.

Yah, I've been tempted all day to place an order but I think you are right. Dell is going to have to drop the base price a further 15% or so if they want to be competitive with the hopefully-soon-to-be-released viewsonic 28" and samsung 27". I'll sit tight until April.

I remember getting that flyer and immediately trying the 15% coupon on the 2707 and it didn't work, I misplaced it shortly after. IIRC it only works on the 3007, 2007 and a few other E&A items. I'll post when/if I find it.
