I got this monitor 2 weeks ago and it really has been great, for 150 it's crazy good deal to me.

The crazy money I paid for my Dell U2711 ultrasharp, I think it was 700+ back in 2011. The G2724D with 165hz is pretty amazing going from 60hz for decades.

I bought an Acer Nitro model 1440p 180Hz refresh rate on display port from Wal -Mart back around Oct 2024 for that same price, I don't even use it as to be on a 43" 4K Roku TV @ 60Hz, just don't feel like putting reading glasses to read anything on the 27", gaming not so bad but desktop is a nightmare for my eyes.

Dell monitors are usually pretty solid. I have the older version of this too, S2721DGF, 165hz IPS. I can't complain. This for $150 is pretty amazing.

I'm a big fan of Dell screens, but more for work than for gaming. They're just low bullshit. Same with HP. I got my dad an HP Omen 27" 1440p screen for Christmas. It has actual buttons, no stupid smart TV shit like the Samsung monitor I had briefly (took it back... and yes monitor, not TV), you can turn the RGB off in the settings, and most importantly it turns on fast unlike my LG OLED which insists on displaying an LG Logo before it gives you any video. Have fun seeing the press F2 or DEL to enter BIOS prompt. You'll be in Windows before that stupid animation finishes. Thankfully I have a 43" 4k 60Hz Dell IPS LCD as my main work screen along with a couple of 1920x1200 side screens in portrait mode, so I only turn the OLED on if I'm gaming, watching TV or a movie, etc. The Dell doesn't do any stupid crap.

I have this problem and have to haul it up to the server room to the 19" dell monitor in there that we use when headless things suddenly might need a head briefly to do that when it was new. I got another one to keep in a drawer in the room that it regularly sits in for next time. It does work with a hardwired or 2.4ghz not bluetooth keyboard though despite the screen taking a while to turn on it just requires holding down your uefi button (for me smashing delete over and over until it appears for tradition's sake (but at times f2 and others.) It also works if you're using a bluetooth keyboard and select reboot to uefi if you've gotten that far anyway.

If anyone has Amazon returns/ overstock stores around they are worth going to.. My dad has one around the corner from his house and last I was there, they had pallets and shelves of 24-27” G Sync and Free Sync monitors, they were in the range of $30-70. I didn’t need a monitor so I didn’t even look into them but that stores general rule is 55% of Amazon pricing.

I bought this monitor on a Black Friday deal last year for $150. F*cking awesome monitor. I use it as a secondary with my Dell S2721DGF. It's shocking how close it comes to the S2721DGF's quality, considering I paid like $380 for the S2721DGF a couple years ago. Both are excellent monitors, and I love using both.
