Dell 2407 via Costco

Hey everyone.
Ive been reading this forum for quite some time and finally decided to go back to LCD world after 4 years of hardcore pro gaming.
I used to own 23" Apple Cinema Display (1600x1024) back in 2001 when it used to cost $3,999. Sold it 3 years ago and bought Iiyama Visionmaster Pro 514 with the best refresh rates in the world (still to this day the best) since my online gaming required the lowest possible lag. (1280x960@125hz on q3 engine games) The monitor would push up to 2048x1536@88hz.

Well since im no longer gaming, ive decided to get Dell 2407wfp, and found out about costco amazing returning policy. So im pretty much ready to order but wanted to know if anyone from this forum has ordered 2407 and is there even a possibility to get lucky and receive A04 revision?
Also since the estimated processing time for this lcd is between 12-15 days (on costco site), does that mean that ill be getting the monitor straight from Dell warehouses or its stocked up at Costco's warehouses? Did you guys really have to wait that long?

Im hoping that at least someone will be able to answer these questions. :)

I was told Costco does allot of drop shipping to save costs.This is in the US and up here in Canada as well.Getting a A04 is a crap shoot,unless you are at this point lucky,willing to wait a few months until its a total garuantee,or you work for Dell/know someone who knows what buttons to push,and works for Dell.I have a friend who I have known since I was 5 years old.He works for them,in management,and helped me get a 2407 for under 700 Cdn with the 5 year ext advanced exchange warranty,with delivery included.He did what he could to get me an A04,but said he couldnt make it a 'for sure thing',it ended up working out well though,as 8 days later I had a A04 at my door.I love it !! Good luck. :)
 
So A04 is shipping within the USA. Thats a good thing. Ill just go ahead and order it through costco, then try to go for the replacement in couple of months when A04 is the only revision available.

Also, can you verify that your A04 panel is S-IPS?
 
I also believed there is only 23" S-IPS panel, but then saw that thread... strange...
 
Is it also pretty much not true that A04's are mostly shipping in Asia, and hardly in USA?

According to my Dell reseller, they're not shipping at all yet (a few random ones made it into it, but they're certainly not solid)

I know most online retailers located in Korea are shipping out the A04 revision and it's been a while since.
The best bet is you buy one from Costco and confirm.
The oldschool way. :p
 
Forgive me for what I said without any knowledge.
S-IPS 24'' does exist but there is no way to confirm which A04 contains the S-IPS panel.
I was told by my contact and he said there is no S-IPS used in 2407.

Here is the bottomline:

24'' S-IPS certainly exists!

Wow that is an amazing deal. I was going to wait a few months and then buy from Costco to hopefully get the A04 and if not, use the great Costco return policy. I doubt the price will drop to under $700 though. The price just recently dropped to $830.
