I have used this monitor before on a friend's PC. I have $400 to spend on a new widescreen LCD and I need to know my options. I looked at the Gateway FPD2275W 22" Widescreen LCD for another LCD within my budget. I do a little gaming, a lot of surfing, and a good amount of photo editing for my Nikon D70. I wouldn't mind the ability to hook up a console either.

tl;dr- Best all-around widescreen LCD for $400 or less.

I wouldn't recommend the 2007WFP anymore, now that they seem to have switched from IPS to PVA panels, especially if you are doing photo editing.

Actually, they have been shipping mostly S-IPS panels since the middle of December, but there is no way to know how long that will last.

Yeah it seems people from here been getting the S-IPS lately. It might be worth a shot to try. Just keep in mind if you don't like monitor (and Dell's S-PVA is pretty bad) and send it back your probably not going to see you money back for awhile. They tell you to allow thrity days for refund and they mean it.

It's Friday night slow down ; )

I don't like 22' inch monitors for photos. They have same res as the 20's but larger pixel pitch. So you get bigger image at expense of image quality. I like the NEC's for photos - especially the ones with the clear screen (the matte finish anti-glare monitors look "dusty" to me) because with decent camera photos are so clear its like looking through a window. NEC also uses S-IPS.
