Hey guys
I just received my Dell 2007WFP today and got a chance to compare 2005FPW & 2007WFP side by side. I didn't have the best camera so some pictures came out fuzzy but that was the best I could do without a tripod.
First thing I noticed right away was that 2007WFP was lighter than 2005FPW. It also looked sexier and I really liked the menu buttons. Bezels are thinner but it makes the 2007WFP smaller than 2005FPW so I don't know if that's really a good thing.
About backlight bleeding. There were none. (I guess I got really lucky with 2005FPW though because many people have reported terrible backlight bleeding problems on theirs).

Now both of them together. What you see in the picture is nothing like what you see in real life in a pitch black room. My camera's shutter speed was very slow and that might be why you are seeing uneven colors here. Notice how black on the 2007WFP is darker. When you view them side by side, black level is much better on the 2007WFP. It is noticeably better.
Surprisingly, colors looked better on the 2005FPW. Blue looks very crisp on the 2005FPW whereas 2007WFP generally has a greenish scent.
Few more side by side comparisons:
2007WFP sure is sexier than 2005FPW! Well... at least in my opinion. =)
After playing around with the settings for few hours, I can honestly say 2007FPW is NOT much better than 2005FPW. At least not in terms of image quality. They are both great I think, but 2007WFP is NOT worth the extra $100 over 2005FPW. The only reason I bought a 2007WFP was because it came with a system I ordered. I got a really great deal on it.
Here is my honest recommendation. If you already own a 2005FPW and are thinking about "upgrading" to 2007WFP because it's newer and supports HDCP, don't. It's not worth the extra $ and the hassle. 2005FPW is great and definitely isn't inferior to the newer model, 2007WFP. Also, people always make a big deal about HDCP support, but you have to realize it really is nothing to worry about. Absolutely nothing. It really won't make much difference. When it finally comes out, you will need to get a new video card with HDCP. HDCP should NOT be the deciding factor when choosing a monitor. True, it's a very small plus, but don't fork over $100 just to get a monitor with HDCP. It's definitely not worth it in my honest opinion. Anyway, I'm tired so I'm probably gonna fall asleep watching The Apprentice.
I hope you enjoyed my review.
