Dell 2005FPW Return Policy?

Hey guys, I just got my brand new Dell 2005FPW, and I must say, really really nice monitor. There are, however, a few problems. I have two stuck pixels towards the center of the screen, which I can definately live with. I do however have a good deal of backlight leaking on the bottom left and top right corners of the LCD.

I can live with this to a certain degree, but it kinda sucks spending so much money on a product when I know that I could have (and in the case of backlight leaking maybe I should have) gotten a perfect product. Could any of you guys post your experiences with sending these monitors back? Is it worth the hassle? Could you let me know some of the details of the 21 day return policy? (i.e. whether I have to pay any fees or shipping).

How likely is it that I'll get a good replacement without having to keep sending back monitors again and again? Do most people get monitors with a decent deal of backlight leaking/dead pixels, or is it somewhat uncommon?

You won't have to pay anything at all. You WILL have to talk to tech support (they will verify your monitor is "bad") and then customer care (they deal with the actual replacement). Tech support can be a hassle, but just exaggerate and tell them you're not happy. They will accomadate you.

Pick up the phone and call tomorrow for a replacement. Sometimes the replacements will be worse, sometimes better. You just have to try, and the sooner, the better.

The backlight is common enough (though you're likely to get one with very minor bleeding, something you can live with). Dead pixels are an issue with all LCD monitors of course. But as long as they're not in annoying spot (i.e. centre), or show up in annoying ways/colours, you'll be fine.

Just be sure to keep both monitors and see which one you like better before you decide to send one of them back. They won't charge you, don't worry (unless you keep it for months). If you're not happy with the 2nd, get a 3rd. Pick up the phone and call now!! :D
