I tried a search, but couldn't find anything.

I understand these monitors are somewhere around the 12ms response time range. I was wondering if someone can tell me the highest refresh rate for these monitors at 1280x1024 or 1024x768, which are resolutions I know you don't usually play in, but I love to play ESPN games, and those are the only resolutions that support it. Problem is, NBA Live 2005's framerates are choppy and crappy when refresh rate is anything lower than 70Hz. At 75 Mhz, the game is smooth.

I was considering the 20 inch widescreen Acer LCD, but 16ms would mean the refresh rate is locked at 60hz, which would make NBA Live 2005 look crappy.

Did you know that you can turn off V-sync so that the games frate rates are independant of the monitors refresh rate?
 
And then you will see "tearing" (which is even worse than ghosting)

Most videocards can only drive the 2005FPW at 60hz on DVI. You can probably get 75hz on the VGA connection, though. As for framerates above 60... no need for it.

With a 12ms response time, anything above 60 will "ghost" anyway.

You'll have to get a screen with 1ms reponse time and 100hz on DVI if you want to avoid the shortcomings of LCDs in terms of response.

V-Sync is what you use to remove tearing not visa versa
 
Yes exactly, you have to turn on V-Sync to avoid tearing. I apologize if it came out different to you.
 
To answer the original poster's question, the Dell 2405FPW supports 75 Hz at 1280x1024, 1152x864, 1024x768, 800x600, and 640x480. It's limited to 60 Hz at 1920x1200 and 1600x1200. Response times and refresh rates have nothing to do with each other, so the Acer probably supports 75 Hz at the same resolutions as well. You should be able to get 75 Hz on the DVI connection, but some video drivers may hide that option from you.
