Hey guys, been looking to add some extra screen real estate, since working with 2-3 word documents+pdf+excel on a single u2311 can get tiresome. :p

I've just been offered 2 Dell 2001FP for the ISK equivalent of ~100$, this would give me an extra space of 3200x1200, but I've read different things about these monitors, some say it's a high quality S-IPS panel but others say it's absolute garbage with regards to black levels, refresh rate and such.

Obviously they are ~7 year old monitors, but would they be decent next to my u2311 for extra workspace? Are they worth 100$ each?

God i remember picking up mine for 750 bucks after a 25% off coupon from dell. Mine is still kicking and going strong. i would probably offer 75 bucks since they have a damned external powr supply. They will be fine at what you are wanting to use them for.

They'll work fine for text in portrait mode (nice to be able to read an entire written page without scrolling at 100% scaling). If you are getting 2 of them you should really swap out your U2311 for a 30" 2560x1600 as it makes it a perfect PLP setup.

Got 'em both for ~125$ total, one of 'em looks fantastic and the other one a bit worn out but still very decent.. Now just to swap my 560Ti out for a triple mon capable card. :)
