Hi I just received my dell 2001fp. It's huge and I love that.

The only thing is the text and images seem kind of blury. I am running it at 1600x1200 (native resoultion) through VGA (no DVI on this computer yet). Is there some setting I can change to help it not be as blury? When it goes through the auto adjust I can see that it isn't blury for part of the period that it is adjusting.

Also the other thing is there seems to be a slight scratch I think in the left part of the LCD. I noticed it when I was looking at a webpage with a light background. Only 1 dead pixel (red) in the middle that I noticed but I don't care about that because I only saw that with a totally black background.

What about this little scratch that I see?

edit: its not a scratch.. not sure what it was but i took a mosit bath towel and it rubbed off.

the text is kind of blury still..

specs: nfroce (2) I think? 32 MB video ram, running 1600x1200 16bit...
 
call dell up. they can prob. send you out a new LCD. as for the blury part, i dont know. I have the same LCD as you, so far no dead pixels and everything i look at looks great. I just started noticing yest. that while watching a DVD, one of the faces was kind of blurry. I am running on DVI.
 
It's the VGA. Get yourself a DVI card, and it will be like getting your first pair of glasses. Although, the monitor's position/size adjustments might help a bit to align the video's pixels to the monitor's pixels.

And Cleartype won't make anything look sharper. It will make text look nicer, but if anything more blurry (though that's only really noticable when you have cleartyped text next to non-cleartyped text).
