dell 2001fp-BETTER NOT BE BUSTED

wow i need someones advice or help or whatever since the dell customer support guys are complete idiots. anyway my 2001fp all of a sudden about 2 weeks ago develops this 1 1/2 inch thick red stripe from top to bottom, about 1 1/2 inches from the left side of the monitor. on top of that, about one week ago the remaining space to the left of the red stripe went blue, and on top of THAT, now theres a greenish one bleeding in near the center of the monitor. the stripes are see somewhat transparent but since i cant figure out whats going on im just hoping i dont have to trash this supposedly awesome monitor (which it has been so far) and which i spent so much money on. does anyone know whats going on, if its fixable, or if i have an $800 paperweight.
 
$800 paperweight? Maybe you've not been out in a while ;)

Either way, thats an ancient monitor, so theres no way its under warranty anymore. I'd say its a paperweight unless you're a far better electrician then you let onto.
