hi, i have the above and have it connected to my cable converter, but the output is pretty choppy. I bought one of those AverMedia TV box which helps a bit but still can't get a crisp picture. do i need a video capture card to get the best output quality. i would really like to achive HD quality if possible. The Cable box is HD ready - Comcast.

My first advice is get a new cable provider. I have had many bad experiences with comcast and I dont even use them, my grandmother does. They are pretty much morons. If there is anything else available in your area, get it. A decent capture card will probably give you a better picture than what youre looking at now.

It's kinda hard to do it without getting a good picture due to nothing usiing the same res that the 2005FPW uses. plus, most cable TV and satellite still use very low resolution rates and when this transfers to full screen at non-HD low res, it's going to look very bad... i'd wait for the companies being forced to transfer to total HD before you consider using it for cable... or just viewing it at the aspect resolution. my 2 cents.
