Well.. the dell 19" lcd has 4 buttons.. on/offf... a menu and navigation buttons - and +... now of course if you press the - button without first pressing the menu button it switches modes between analog and digital.. hmm my questions is if you guys think this will get worn out if i press it many timesa day?.. heh.. cuz it serves like a monitor for two computers if its used like this.. :p
 
Not an expert on the subject, but I think a lot of the monitors are supposed to have that ability... hence the even higher models of LCD's (incl. Dell's) having 2 analog, 1 DVI, s-video, composite, etc etc, with the ability to switch between them any time. Don't think it puts any strain on the LCD at all... but don't take my word for it.
 
I think this would be fine, the button seems pretty sturdy to me although I have no idea of the electronics behind it. Check the Dell warranty for more information.
