i have a few of these on one of my disks from a previous install. i get access denied when i try to delete them. any ideas?

Use the disk clean up wizard built into windows...it sees them..

Turning system restore off deletes all of the entries. Since they're from an older disk they might not get removed. You can also take ownership of the System Volume Information and delete them manually.
