Ok, I want to delete a directory in C:\program files I have tried to delete the individual files and the folder - and it gives me "destination folder access denied" and wont delete - what gives?
It does this after have gone thru two of those permission pop up windows.

Assuming it is something that is safe to delete, have you tried safe mode?

things in program files are probably owned by administrator. You as a 'regular' user do not have administrative rights and cannot delete files owned by the administrator.

You could in the vista start menu search box, type 'explorer' and wait for explorer.exe to come up, then right click on it and pick the run as administrator option. This gives you full power over the files on your machine and you should be able to delete anything you want out of program files. I would suggest trying to hunt down the appropriate uninstaller before just deleting things however.

thanks, yes, ambientZ, I have tried the admin rights - no avail.
gonna try the safe mode delete.
