Delete system restore files?

Anybody know how to delete the system restore files? I have disabled it on the drive but it is still taking up 6 gigs on it...

Thanks for any help

open Properties of C:\

select Disk Cleanup, and check all the files you wish to delete. under the More options tab, you can select the Clean up system restore files.
 
do you have more than one HDD, or more than one partition?

normally when system restore is turned off, the system will delete the restore points/files...have tried manually deleting the files/folder? you will have to enable viewing of system/hidden files, and have admin rights. you can also try booting to safe mode to do this.
 
Just disable system restore...that should clear them off. It's a pretty good idea to disable System Restore anyway, as some viruses like to hide there.

2 HD's
1st hd - 3 partions
2nd hd - 1 partions

2nd hd is one in question, hd empty and 6 gigs showing used. Have enabled all folders, trash is empty and system volume information is empty

system restore is disabled on all drives
 
so if its the 2nd drive, why would you think its system restore data, since windows dosent give you an option to store your data there.

Either way if thats it on the drive.. then click on My computer > C drive> right click and format... problem solved
 
I disabled system restore and gained abour 4GB of Space and it sped up my computer. To hell with that. If I have a problem, I will just format.
