When running ntbackup on Server 2003 with an XP machine editing files. Sometimes will cause a delayed write error on Windows XP and loose all data for that file.

Isn't ntbackup suppoed tow ork even though people are using files?

ok maybe I should elaborate. I do have a vague understanding of what write caching does.

Even though I think ntbackup should be handling this

Windows XP seems to be using write caching for network folders as well as the local drive. Is there a way to disable write caching for remote folders? or will disabling it on the local drives disable it for all?
