Delay Write Failed + Bent Ribbons?

I am wondering if bending a ribbon cable inside a case to make it appear wired clean would have any adverse conditions for the hard drive. I had a second hard drive in my computer and in order to keep it clean, I bent the ribbons many times over (even flattening them so it'd be like this: || <-- this close together). I got the delay write failed messages over and over. Could this be the cause?

If you bent them over and over, there's a very good chance the cable is bad now.
 
Don't run ribbion cables parallel to each other. Has something to do with the orientation of the magnetic fields. If you run them parellel there is a greater chance of adverse effects due to interference. Crossing them perpendicularly is OK though.

It sounds like you accordian folded them, which is prolly very very bad :eek:
Try out a straight cable and see if the problem persists.

This is actually the same machine *but* different problem. The other thread was about the first hard drive being corrupted due to a power outage (in which that case would be the disconnecting of the power cable). But this is about the second hard drive which I have in my PC. I've had it disconnected for a while now but even until to this day it would sometimes come up with C:\$MFT locations of the same error. I am trying to see what would cause that. It has nothing to do with the power outage in the other thread because it was disconnected before it crashed and it has always been doing that.

I almost accordian folded it but it was actually just two hard drives being connected within one IDE ribbon. I will take a picture to show. Right here:

A simple diagram I drew out. Would that be fine or not? It looks very tight in that picture anyway.

Actually as of now, the problems began popping up with the D: drive which is the second hard drive. It comes with the same Delayed Write Failed problem error. C: drive can boot up so easy and browsing through a C: drive is fine as well. However, clicking on a D: drive would ruin it all. Computer would hang for an extremely long time. I would suspect its' MFT got screwed as well.

However, I pose a question: how do I make my second hard drive usable without installing an operating system on it!? FDISK anyone? Give it a partition and it works? Correct?
