Delay with Crysis Release?

Got this email from amazon about my pre-order:

Dear Customer,

We wanted to give you an update on the status of your order

Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below was changed by the supplier, and we need to provide you with a new estimated delivery date based on the new release date:

"Crysis (PC/DVD)" [Video Game]
Estimated arrival date: 19/11/07 - 21/11/07

We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

I think the official date is nov. 17th...so that's likely wrong because what would warrant a maximum 1 week delay?
 
EB Games posts ship date of 13 November, they are usually in the loop if there is any delay......
by the way , did you see a SP demo is due out 25 September, full version of level 1 of the game!!! Yahoo!:D
 
Yea i just saw the new official nano suit trailer and at the end it displays 11-13-07. The trailer is only 3 days old so ea would look like complete idiots if they are already delaying it more.

The official release date is November 16. Not only did they release it (can be seen here), the latest nano-suit trailer (what looks like it would be one of those videos you see when you load the game up) also displays this date. As for your email, it's only a week after. Since they set this specific date they have not changed it.

Personally, it doesn't bother me, I'm sure it'll arrive some day I'm not expecting it - there's more to life than waiting for parcels.

BTW - I like your choice of headphones - Sennheiser 280 Pro - There are no better (that I've tried anyway) - They're so good, it make their gaming headsets sound rubbish...:eek:

I am on the pre order and hey when they say in August that there is a delay on a Nov release I dont' think its a big deal...Now if it was Nov 10th and they said that I would be OH $%^

I only made the text larger so it would stand out. Since it is the only real date that was posted (various other incorrect ones) I made sure to make it stand out. :)

I too love the Senns, glad I made the choice!
 
To the op I re-read that email.......it states that there is a delay by the supplier, not the publisher or the producer.......maybe whoever gets the goods to Amazon is screwed up and had to delay things by a few days......who knows.......

anyway, most games and things are released to the street on Tuesday. The 13th is Tuesday in that week, the 16th is Friday......I would think EB may be correct in this case??

Amazon is notorious for shipping "pre-orders" 3-4 days after every brick and mortar retailer already has it on the shelf. If you want to play this game the first day, I'd cancel and pick it up at EB or something. :D
 
I just put in my pre-order for the Special Edition from EBgames. I am really excited about this game. The last game I played, was the original HitMan 47. I purchased it with the first computer I ever bought, a PIII HP piece of crap. Oh well, how times have changed.
 
Yep I preordered mine back in the begining of july and I've gotten 2 of those emails from amazon. No big deal I'll just have to wait a little longer.

I don't understand the question, or complaint. The release date is set for 11/16/07 and Amazon is telling you to expect to see it between 11/19/07 and 11/21/07. I'd bet cold hard cash that you've got 3 - 5 day shipping.....
 
Stereophile hit it right one the head. If you want to play it on release day get it from B&M.
Even overnight they won't ship it a day before release they will ship on release.

That's not totaly true I preordered bioshock from amazon and got on release day with no extra shipping charges.
 
This is true ^^^^ EB now will ship preorders that have overnight priority the day before release so they arrive on release days.

They did it with Bioshock and are going to do it again with HL2, I believe. I got a deal on the orange box a couple of weeks ago. 5 bucks off and overnight free.

EB can be ok sometimes if you preorder on the right day.
 
Never take the release dates too seriously.......ebgames has soldier of fortune: payback listed for 11/13/07.

how awesome would that be though? and why not have duke nukem come out too. And come in a pack, both games for 30usd.
 
Looking forward to the demo on the 25th, it should be on Gamespot.

Has anyone else noticed how annoying the nano suit is? I'm going to get tired of, "maximum armour", "maximum strength" warnings very quickly. I hope you can turn it off!

I wondered that as well...it seems like it would get annoying quickly. Hopefully there is an option to change that.
 
I'm not doing any pre-ordering until I know it's definately not coming to Steam. Look at Bioshock. Two weeks before launch Valve suddenly announce it's a Steam title.

If not there'll probably be a mod as I think many people will find it very annoying.
 
I don't know why people pre-order. They spend money sooner, and sometimes more of it, and end up getting it later than everyone else.

I agree.. Steam is my preferred method of purchasing games theses days...
